Seavista provides underwriting consultancy and expert witness services. With 40 years in the insurance industry and 20 as an expert witness, we have the knowledge and expertise to help you. Our experience covers property, casualty and construction insurance, as well as catastrophe and specialty reinsurance. We work with many of the UK's leading insurance companies.
Who we are
Seavista Associates is run by Stephen Coates, ACII, an experienced underwriter, account manager and insurance expert witness. He has 40 years experience in the UK/International insurance and reinsurance markets.
EXPERT WITNESS
Stephen Coates has been an expert witness since 2003 and has been involved in more than 70 cases. He has appeared in court many times and received favourable feedback from the court. The nature of disputes spans both insurance and reinsurance involving property, BI, construction and liability.
CONSULTANCY
With 40 years experience, including 10 years as a CUO and another 10 running UK Property and Casualty accounts for major insurers, Stephen is uniquely placed to help (re)insurers, MGA's or other risk carrying entities with strategy, underwriting appetite or audit. Stephen has recent experience in catastrophe/tail reinsurance and public/private risk carrying entities.
